On 8th March, just a week before the country was closed down, sports events, political parties rally and conferences, massive demonstration rallies to mark International Women's Day all took place.
3 days later 3000 Atletico de Madrid fans flew together for another Championship League match in Liverpool.
Even the Government's response was late; be it arrival of foreigners, ban on international flights. Countrywide lockdown took place around 16th March.

Spain has a magnificent primary healthcare system, but its hospitals have been hit by a decade of austerity since the financial crisis.
It has only a third of the hospital beds per capita that are provided by Austria or Germany.
5. A Large population Of Elderly People
A large population of Spain consists of elderly citizens.
The virus affects the elder population much quickly and more severely than others.

6. Lack of medical masks and protective gears
Much of Spain's medical staff caught corona virus because of lack of N95 masks and other medical protective gear. Investment in these gears was low to begin with. More than 12,000 staff members are infected.
Conclusion :
When this is over Spain will be extremely fragile. When the financial crisis hit in 2008, unemployment soared to 27 per cent, public debt lept upwards and the nosedive into recession was among the worst in Europe.Much the same will happen this year. For the moment, Spain must beat the virus. This has been the toughest moment so far, but there may be worse to come.
